Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we are frequently asked along with some helpful terms and meanings. Simply click on the item in question and you will see some helpful information.

  • Data Privacy

    This Privacy Notice details our policies and procedures in relation to the personal data we process. Haven Claims (“Haven”) are committed to processing data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the UK Data Protection Act (“UKDP”).

  • Your Excess

    We will waive your Policy Excess if you are not at fault for the accident and use our Approved Repair Network. If your vehicle is a Total Loss or Stolen and Unrecovered your Policy Excess will be deducted from your Settlement.

  • Repairable Vehicles

    If your vehicle is repairable you will be directed to one of Approved Repairers. Repairs will be guaranteed and you will be provided with a Courtesy Car for the duration of the repair.

  • Courtesy Car

    If you have a Private Car Plus Policy and your vehicle is Total Loss, Stolen and Unrecovered and the incident occurs within the UK we will provide you with a Courtesy Car for a maximum of 7 days.

  • Valuing your Vehicle

    Your vehicle will be valued as defined by your Insurance Policy:

    • The vehicle will be valued as defined by the market value, taking into account the age,
      mileage and condition of your vehicle.
    • Plus the value of accessories up to a maximum of £250

  • Paying your Claim

    Settlement will be transferred directly into your bank account net of any deductions.

    What deductions could be taken from your Settlement?

    • Your Policy Excess
    • Insurance Premium owed. (Full details can be found under of 5 of Premium Payments For Annual Policies
      towards the rear of your Policy Booklet)
    • Outstanding Hire Purchase or Finance attached to Your Car.

  • No Claim Bonus

    The Maximum NCB we accept is 5 years. If you make a Claim you will not receive additional NCB for that Policy Year and you will lose 2 years of NCB previously earned / cumulated.

    For example...
    You have 3 years NCD and have 1 accident then your NCB will step back to 1 year.

  • If I have a claim for windscreen damage, does it affect
    my No Claims Bonus (NCB)?

    No, it does not affect your No Claims Bonus.
